I had the opportunity to discuss the last weeks worth of posts, mainly the evolution concepts, with certain people Saturday evening. Two very interesting points were made, which provoked me to thinking a little more.

  1. If God controls random mutations then it isn’t really evolution.
  2. I seem to lean towards evolution as the “how it happened” when that isn’t fully understood to be the case.

The first point is interesting, but is not related to my previous posts. However it made me think, so it gets an honorary mention.

The second is far more interesting. On the surface it may appear that I am arguing evolution is everything that is involved in the development (i.e. after it was created/started) of life. And yes, that is essentially what I have said. However, in all honesty at a deeper level: I believe the process should be scientifically quantifiable, and if we look back, I was trying to reconcile Science and Christianity. Evolution is the vehicle of reconciliation for today; it is likely a more efficient vehicle will be designed in the future. When this happens I will redevelop my ideas.

You have to get down off the fence to truly appreciate what the grass is like and it is only then that you can freely think about the problem.
