Moved In
Now that I am working full time, Prue and I found a place to live and moved earlier this week. We’re all settled now and the place is actually really, really, good. There is only one problem: No ADSL on the phone line
. I’m still working out exactly how we’re going to get around that issue but Next G wireless might be the go – personal bias aside it looks like the right technology at the right time. And besides this way I get to try out wireless internet, and I am a tech junkie so it’ll be cool!!!
Oh and I got a spam comment, the first one
.

NextG is very impressive. i use it for work when I’m on call out of hours (I’m actually on it now on a moving train in a tunnel
).
Only problem is that it is also *very* expensive.
It is expensive. But it is about the only option, short of dialup or isdn. Did a speed test last night which returned ~1300kbps which is as fast as going to get out here in the sticks
so that will be usable. Unfortunately the data limits are rather tight. I’m planning on probably running a local proxy and caching aggressively. In fact I might even try the compressing proxy route too if too much data is chewed through.
